What should I look for when choosing an architect? 

You need to find the right person for the right project, for example if you are wanting to incorporate feng shui or green elements into your project then you need to find an architect who specialises in that field.  If you are about to embark on a development project then you need to look for an architect who has a building and development background. 

For peace of mind look for a fully qualified architect, preferably a registered architect who is also a member of the Australian Institute of Architects (AIA).  An experienced architect that has been in the industry for a number of years will have plenty of knowledge and they should be able to save you money as well as add value to your home which will more than cover their fees.

If you are about to renovate or build a new home then look for architects that has renovated and/or built their own home so they know exactly what you are about to go through. You need to feel comfortable with your architect so make sure you have a good relationship, as you are going to have to deal with him or her over the next few weeks or even months.

Does Archizen Architects Provide A Builder's Tender Package? 

Yes, we can provide you with a comprehensive tendering package so building contractors can compare 'apples with apples'.  We can also help you with the negoiation process.

We include drawings, detailed specifications and specialist reports and we discuss these documents along with our expectation levels with potential builders.  We send your tendering package out to a number of builders who have registered an expression of interest in quoting for the construction of your project. You are free to use your builders or ours.

The tendering package is designed to make tendering for your project quick and easy so you can start your project as soon as you are ready.  You get to choose your builder. 

How Do We Make Payments To Archizen Architects? 

We provide a 6-step design process where upon signing of our architectural agreement and your initial deposit your design project will begin.  Then you are invoiced at the end of each step.  Once we receive your payment we automatically begin the next stage.  Payment is required prior to lodgement of your development application with council.

Yes, we are totally flexible here at archizen.  We can provide you with a wide range of services such as architectural design services, construction documentation for council, help you choose a builder and provide contract administration services during the construction phase.  

Archizen can take the stress out of the building process by acting as your agent, liasing with the builder on site and giving you peace of mind by ensuring that your home or project is built according to plan. You can relax while we handle all the building queries.

We will meet with the builder you've chosen and the relevant council representatives as often as necessary to ensure the building process is as smooth as possible.  We will keep you informed promptly if we have any concerns whatsoever to keep delays to a minimum. 

What is 3D Architecture?  

3D architecture is fully computer generated drawings and elevations.  We use the latest 3D archiCAD computer graphic technology where you will be able to see your design come to life before you spend any money on construction to build your project.  You will also get to see 3D black and white computer visualisations of your design, including elevations and section drawings.   We can also supply you with computer graphic flythroughs, colour rendering, shadow diagrams, electrical drawings and much more.

What if I have a Difficult Site? 

We also have a vast amount of experience in difficult sites.  We encourage you when choosing a site for your project not to overlook the potential of a difficult, narrow or sloping site.  While the cost of building on a difficult site can be more expensive, the costs are usually balanced with the initial lower purchase price however the end result is that you end up with a much more interesting design that can be truly harmonious in its surroundings and reward you for years to come.

How much will my design cost? 

Archizen will ensure that we design to your budget and if engaged to tender your project we will endeavour to achieve the best results for you. When it comes to the construction phase, with experience we have found that the cheapest quote is not always the best. We guarantee when acting on your behalf as your architects to ensure at all times that your best interests are completely satisfied in regards to both price and quality.

After assessing your individual needs and receiving your initial design brief we can provide you with a written fee proposal for your proposed project.  We offer fixed fees so you can budget upfront for your project and avoid budget blowouts.
